Man. This place hit the spot. Good food. Good beer. Raucous atmosphere. Don’t come for a quiet evening alone—and watch out for the tiger.
We went on a busy day and waited as you’d expect. The food was hot, though, so it was fine. Lots of wild beers to try and the ones you already know and love.
Head in if you can. So many worse places to eat than this gem!

Dropped into Bittercreek Alehouse for a cheeseburger and it was fantastic! Perfect cook on the burger, toasted bun, Lettuce, Tomato and Onion fresh, clean, and crisp. This burger was delicious. Solid beer / wine / cocktail selections and overall cleanliness was on point (Read outdoor tables were clean / not sticky, and I always appreciate a cloth napkin). Stopped here for drinks twice and lunch once. I mention this because I would really like to foot-stomp the 10-star customer service. Our water Samuel was welcoming, courteous and took exceptional care of us during lunch. Also, during our other evening ‘hydrating’ stops, the rest of the staff was also extremely friendly and welcoming across the board. Holding doors, quickly grabbing condiments, transferring a check to the bar without asking us to close out and reopen our tab (hate that), not rushing customers – just an overall great experience. Definitely recommend. Thank you, Samuel, Gretchen and the overall Bittercreek team! See you soon.

Old school bar feel without the dirty. The french fries are the best I've ever had. Fantastic bar. Beer selection and spirits. The food is much better than most bars. I even think there is an executive chef, the food is so good. And THAT is surprising for a bar.

Food is awesome. Service is even better. I sit down and they have my drink in front of me before I order. I don’t even come in enough for that to be honest. It’s in the running for my favorite place in Boise. Regularly get the. Burger with a salad on the side. Great selection of beers. Have options for everyone.

Huntsman burger was one of the best burgers I have ever tried. The Orange Whip Hazy IPA was amazing. Service was excellent. Only thing I didn’t love was the place is very loud/busy inside (so I sat outside since the weather was perfect).

Loved the food and service! The poutine is a must try! We came in and asked our waiter to pick us a good beer flight and OMG: all options were amazing! We ended up returning to this place for a second time in one evening!

Strolling along 8th street and found a nice place to eat dinner. We sat outside and was pleasant with the heaters going. We had the Poutine for a stater and then shared the Wild Coho Salmon with Caesar Salad. Food was great and Amaya was a great server.

Such an amazing rustic great atmosphere spot right downtown! Perfect for lunch, dinner, or even a visit to their bar! The beef focaccia is to die for! The fries were delicious and perfectly crispy and soft. The Cesar salad with salmon was my favorite but it’s hard to decide when everything was so delicious! Great service even though it can get quite busy! Highly recommend if you are in the area, this was our 3rd time visiting!

Bittercreek Alehouse feels like the kind of place you accidentally discover once and then quietly start using as a personal landmark for your life. “That was the winter I ate elk chili at Bittercreek.” “That conversation should have happened over a Bittercreek burger.” It has that energy.
I came in without expectations and left with the very specific satisfaction of having been exactly where I was supposed to be. The beer list alone deserves respect — not flashy, not overwhelming, just thoughtfully curated, like someone actually drinks this stuff and cares. The food matches that same philosophy. Honest, hearty, no gimmicks. My burger arrived looking confident, not dressed up for Instagram, just ready to do its job — and it absolutely did.
The atmosphere is the real hook. Warm wood, low hum of conversation, people lingering instead of rushing. No one’s pretending. Servers know the menu, don’t rush you, and somehow manage to be efficient without killing the vibe. It’s a rare balance.
Bittercreek doesn’t try to impress you. It just quietly earns your loyalty. And somehow, that feels even better.
